FIVE YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT TO THEN SECRETARY IN THE NAGALAND GOVERNMENT FOR POSSESSION OF ARMS AND AMMUNITIONS

New Delhi, 06.09.2019 :The Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Rouse Avenue, District Court Complex, New Delhi has sentenced S.S. Ahluwalia, IAS (Retd.), then Secretary & Commissioner, Labour & Employment, Govt of Nagaland to undergo five years Rigorous Imprisonment with total fine of Rs. 1,50,000/- in a CBI case.
CBI had registered a case on 31.08.1987 against S Surender Singh Ahluwalia, IAS, then Secretary & Commissioner, Labour & Employment, Govt of Nagaland, on the allegations of possession of five fire arms and large quantity of ammunitions at his official residences at New Delhi and Kohima. After thorough investigation, a chargesheet was filed on 10.04.1992 in the Designated Court. Charges were framed against the accused person on 10.02.2010.
After prolonged trial, the accused Surender Singh Ahluwalia was held guilty and convicted by the Court.
