THDCIL provides State of Art Eye Care Equipment

Rishikesh, 25-02-2024:R. K. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director, THDC India Limited informed that as a part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment to providing quality healthcare services to all, THDC India Limited provided Zeiss Microscope Model OPMI
LUMERA 700 for the new operation theatre of Vivekanand Netralaya Eye Hospital, Dehradun. J. Behera, Director(Finance) inaugurated the machine reflecting THDCIL’s dedication and vision to universal healthcare access. Vishnoi emphasized the crucial role of good health in fulfilling people’s aspirations, stating that as a socially responsible organization, THDCIL continuously strives to address healthcare challenges through various CSR initiatives. These include running an allopathy dispensary in the remote village of Deengaon in Tehri District in partnership with The Hans Foundation, organizing health camps with Seema Dental College, Rishikesh; AIIMS, Rishikesh; and Nirmal Ashram Eye Hospital, Rishikesh.THDCIL also supports the State Govt. Health Infrastructure by providing various medical items and equipment as requested by District Health Officials.During the inauguration ceremony, J. Behera stated that THDCIL has taken the CSR project of providing financial assistance of Rs. 1.25 Cr. towards procuring the Zeiss Microscope Model OPMI LUMERA 700 for Vivekanand Hospital, Dehradun. The aim is to offer best-in-class eye care facilities to communities residing in remote locations and underprivileged individuals in Uttarakhand, including districts of U.P. like Bijnor, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, and Saharanpur. This new machine will have a significant positive impact on people suffering from eye-related ailments,enabling high-quality treatment and procedures such as cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment, retina surgery, and corneal transplant. THDC’s interventions play a pivotal role in addressing eye morbidity, promoting health-seeking behaviour, and reducing out-of-pocket expenditure for hilly communities in Uttarakhand, making THDC the voice of the voiceless hilly regions in the state. During the occasion, Amardeep Singh, General Manager (S&E) and other senior officers of THDCIL and Vivekanand Netralaya Eye Hospital were also present.
