Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, in his efforts to drive industrial development in the state, recently organized a Regional Industry Conclave along with an IATO convention aimed at encouraging investment in the tourism sector. Following this initiative, a two-day mining conclave is being held in Bhopal, where industrialists have received detailed insights into the state’s rich mineral resources. Dr. Yadav believes that the state’s abundant mineral wealth combined with favorable industry policies is effectively attracting investor interest.
At Kushabhau Thackeray International Convention Center, Bhopal Chief Secretary Anurag Jain inaugurated the two-day mining conclave on Thursday. Anurag Jain stated that Madhya Pradesh is the fastest-growing state in the country, ranking first in mineral resources and rich in water, coal and other natural assets. He emphasized that the government is dedicated to facilitating ease of doing business, ensuring every possible support for investors. Upon completing a simple form, investor information reaches all relevant departments enabling swift industry permissions. Invest in Madhya Pradesh and join the journey of development for both the state and the nation, he added. CS also inaugurated an exhibition showcasing the state’s mineral wealth at the convention complex. Present at the event were Mining Corporation MD, Anurag Chaudhary along with representatives from various stakeholder groups, industry leaders, academicians, major mineral companies and officials from the Mineral Department.
Chief Secretary Anurag Jain stated that Madhya Pradesh is at the forefront of development in the country, advancing rapidly in the mining sector. The state ranks second in electricity availability nationwide following Gujarat. Since 2007, Madhya Pradesh has consistently hosted the Industries Conclave, but this year marks the first time a dedicated Mining Conclave is being held in the state. He expressed confidence that this Conclave will undoubtedly serve as a significant milestone.
Chief Secretary Anurag Jain highlighted Madhya Pradesh as an inclusive state with welcoming, easygoing people. Anyone who comes to settle in Madhya Pradesh quickly becomes a part of the state. Known for “no man-day loss” in industries, the state has industry-friendly labor laws and a supportive, cooperative approach from both administrative officers and politicians. Notably, Madhya Pradesh was the first in the country to implement “Public Service Delivery Guarantee Act”, a model later adopted by other states.
Chief Secretary Anurag Jain emphasized that Madhya Pradesh is richly endowed with mineral resources and is the only state in India producing diamonds. CS, Anurag Jain noted that Madhya Pradesh led the nation in the number of coal blocks auctioned this year, supported by a transparent auction regime. In future, Madhya Pradesh is poised to become a leader in coal production.
Chief Secretary Anurag Jain highlighted the abundant water resources in Madhya Pradesh, anchored by the Narmada River, often called the state’s lifeline. As mentioned in the Rigveda, “sins are washed away by bathing seven times in the Yamuna, once in the Ganga and merely by seeing the Narmada.” The Narmada maintains a year-round water flow. Anurag Jain further emphasized Madhya Pradesh’s leadership in innovation, citing the impressive ultra-solar plant in Rewa which produces electricity at a lower cost than in other states. Madhya Pradesh is now an energy-surplus state, strengthening its position in the energy sector.
