Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) has confirmed its intention to join a proposed joint venture to establish a new urea plant in Assam. The company’s board has expressed its readiness to participate in the initiative, with HURL expected to hold a 13% equity stake in the venture. The project, aimed at developing the Namrup IV Fertilizer Plant, will feature an ammonia-urea complex in Namrup, Assam. Aligned with this year’s government Budget announcement, the plant is slated to have an annual production capacity of 12.7 lakh tonnes.
