Cabinet Approves Extensions, Adl. Charges, Repatriations for Sr. Officers

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension of central deputation tenure of Saket Kumar, IAS (BH:2009), Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce, for two years beyond 16 August 2025 or until further orders, by continuing the upgradation of the post to the level of Joint Secretary.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved extending the additional charge of Chief Executive Officer (JS level), Coconut Development Board, to Prabhat Kumar, Horticulture Commissioner, for six months with effect from 6 April 2025 or until the appointment of a regular incumbent, or further orders, whichever is the earliest.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved entrustment of additional charge of Commissioner (JS level), Coal Mines Provident Fund Organisation, to Sajeesh Kumar N, IRTS (2002), Coal Controller, for six months with effect from 1 May 2025, under the Ministry of Coal, aiming to ensure continuity in the organisation’s leadership.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved extending the additional charge of Chief Executive Officer, Polavaram Project Authority, Hyderabad, to Atul Jain, Chairman, Krishna River Management Board, for six months from 28 May 2025 or until the appointment of a regular incumbent, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the AV Division of Department of Personnel and Training for the premature repatriation of Sudhir Kallaya Hiremath, IPS (MH:2007), Deputy Inspector General, CBI, to his parent cadre on personal grounds, with the condition of “extended cooling off” as per existing rules.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension of central deputation tenure under the Central Staffing Scheme of Shobhendra Bahadur (ITS:1994), Director in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, for one year beyond 31 August 2025 and up to 31 August 2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has given ex-post facto approval for the proposal of the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation to curtail the tenure of Anupama, IFOS (WB:2000), serving as Director in the Department. This decision formalises the reduction of her central deputation tenure as proposed earlier.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved extending the central deputation tenure of Prateek Kumar Singh, IRAS (2006), Director in the Department of Expenditure, for two years beyond 18 August 2025 up to 18 August 2027 or until further orders. He has been on central deputation since 19 August 2020.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved extending the central deputation tenure of Shalini Pandey, IDES (2004), Director in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, for two years beyond 16 August 2025 up to 16 August 2027 or until further orders. Her central deputation tenure began on 17 August 2020.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved extending the central deputation tenure of Sharmistha Maitra, IDES (2005), Director in the Ministry of Defence, for two years beyond 31 August 2025 up to 31 August 2027 or until further orders. She has been on central deputation tenure since 1 September 2020.
