Lucknow: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has issued transfer and posting orders of 14 senior IAS officers. Following the recent transfers of IPS officers, this large-scale move reflects a realignment of responsibilities within the state’s top bureaucracy.
The most notable change concerns Chief Secretary Shashi Prakash Goyal, who has been divested of several key positions including Infrastructure & Industrial Development Commissioner, Chairman PICUP, CEO UPEIDA, CEO UPSHA, Additional Chief Secretary (Coordination), and Project Director of UPEIDA. After this reshuffle, Goyal has been left without any departmental charge.
Meanwhile, senior IAS officer Deepak Kumar, currently serving as Agriculture Production Commissioner, has been entrusted with additional responsibilities. He now holds the charge of Infrastructure & Industrial Development Commissioner, Chairman PICUP, CEO UPEIDA, Additional Chief Secretary Civil Aviation and Coordination, and Project Director UPEIDA. Kumar had already been managing the work of Chief Secretary during SP Goyal’s leave.
Other significant reshuffles include:
-Parthsarathi Sen Sharma appointed as Principal Secretary, Basic & Secondary Education.
-Amit Kumar Ghosh made Principal Secretary, Medical, Health & Family Welfare and Medical Education.
-Mukesh Kumar Meshram appointed Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development & Fisheries.
-Amrit Abhijat given charge of Principal Secretary, Tourism, Culture & Religious Affairs.
-Sanjay Prasad, considered close to CM Yogi, relieved from Principal Secretary, Civil Aviation, though he retains his other portfolios.
-Ajay Chauhan assigned additional charge as CEO UPSHA alongside his present role.
Further changes include:
-Alok Kumar Tritiya relieved from Reorganisation, Coordination, Language, National Integration & General Administration; now given additional charge as Nodal Officer, Zero Poverty Uttar Pradesh Campaign.
-P. Gurupasad shifted from Principal Secretary, Revenue, to additional charge of Principal Secretary, Urban Development, Urban Employment & Poverty Alleviation.
-Manish Chauhan entrusted with Principal Secretary, Secretariat Administration, Language, National Integration & General Administration, and Director of Hindi Institute.
-Ranveer Prasad given additional charge as Principal Secretary, Revenue.
-Anamika Singh appointed as Commissioner, Food & Civil Supplies.
-Bhupendra S. Choudhary posted as Divisional Commissioner, Bareilly.
This reshuffle is being seen as a major administrative overhaul, trimming powers of senior bureaucrats while redistributing responsibilities to ensure smoother governance. With Deepak Kumar emerging as one of the most trusted senior officers, the Yogi government has signaled a clear shift in the state’s administrative hierarchy.
