Centre Approves Senior IPS, IAS and ISS Appointments in Forces & Ministries

The government has cleared a series of high-level appointments across IPS, IAS and ISS cadres. Senior IPS officers Praveen Kumar, Praveer Ranjan and Piyush Anand have been elevated, while IAS officers Ruchika Katyal, K Balaji, Neeraj Kumar Singh and ISS officer Shivaji Narasu Patil take up key roles in ministries.

Praveen Kumar Appointed as DG, ITBP
Praveen Kumar, IPS (WB:1993), Special Director, IB, has been appointed as Director General, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) in Level-16 of the Pay Matrix. He will assume charge on superannuation of Rahul Rasgotra, IPS (MA:1989), on 30 September 2025, and will serve till his retirement on 30 September 2030 or until further orders.

Praveer Ranjan to Head CISF as DG
Praveer Ranjan, IPS (AGMUT:1993), Special DG, CISF, has been appointed as Director General, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in Level-16 of the Pay Matrix. He will take charge following the retirement of Rajwinder Singh Bhatti, IPS (BH:1990), on 30 September 2025, and will serve till 31 July 2029 or until further orders.

Piyush Anand Elevated to Apex Scale as DG, NDRF
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the grant of Apex pay scale (Level-17 in the Pay Matrix) to Piyush Anand, IPS (UP:1991), who is serving as Director General, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). This elevation recognizes his seniority and contributions in the field of disaster management.

Ruchika Katyal Appointed as Deputy Secretary, MHA
Ruchika Katyal, IAS (AGMUT:2013), has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Delhi under the Central Staffing Scheme. She will serve for four years or until further orders. As per ACC’s guidelines, she is required to assume charge within three weeks of the appointment order.

K Balaji Appointed as Director, MHA
K Balaji, IAS (UP:2010), has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Delhi under the Central Staffing Scheme. His tenure will continue till 27 April 2027, the balance period of his five-year deputation at Director level, or until further orders.

Neeraj Kumar Singh Appointed Private Secretary to Minister Jitin Prasada
Neeraj Kumar Singh, IAS (MP:2012), has been appointed as Private Secretary to the Minister of State for Commerce & Industry and Electronics & Information Technology, Jitin Prasada. The appointment is at Deputy Secretary level for five years, on a co-terminus basis, or until further orders.

Shivaji Narasu Patil Appointed as Director, Drinking Water & Sanitation
Shivaji Narasu Patil, ISS (2010), has been appointed as Director in the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Delhi under the Central Staffing Scheme. He will serve for a period of five years from the date of assuming charge.
