NHPC Commissions 300 MW Solar Power Project in Rajasthan, Strengthening India’s Renewable Energy Mission

NHPC has successfully commissioned the full capacity of its 300 MW Solar Power Project at Karnisar, Bhatiyan, District Bikaner, Rajasthan, on October 16, 2025. This marks a significant step forward in India’s renewable energy drive and NHPC’s commitment to clean power generation.

On this occasion, Bhupender Gupta, CMD, NHPC, congratulated the entire NHPC team for achieving this remarkable milestone and urged all project teams to dedicate themselves to the timely execution of upcoming projects, thereby supporting India’s goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based capacity by 2030.

Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Projects), NHPC, lauded the dedication and perseverance of the site officers and contractors’ teams who worked tirelessly to complete the project despite challenging weather conditions in the region.

This project is NHPC’s largest commissioned solar power project to date and is a proud reflection of the Make in India initiative, featuring 100% domestically manufactured Solar PV Modules. It stands as a shining example of sustainable development, innovation, and national self-reliance in India’s energy sector.
