The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a series of appointments, tenure extensions, and repatriation of senior officers across various ministries and departments. The decisions reflect the government’s ongoing administrative restructuring to enhance efficiency and leadership continuity.

Shashank Mani Tripathi Appointed Officer on Special Duty to Home Minister
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Shashank Mani Tripathi, IAS (AGMUT:2015), as Officer on Special Duty to the Minister for Home Affairs (Amit Shah) in the Ministry of Home Affairs. His tenure will be at the level of Deputy Secretary, effective from the date of assuming charge, for the remaining period of his four-year central deputation tenure up to August 30, 2028, or on a co-terminus basis with the Minister. His previous tenure as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs has been curtailed to facilitate this appointment.

Extension of Tenure for Smita Srivastava in Department of Higher Education
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Department of Higher Education for extension of the central deputation tenure of Smita Srivastava, IRSEE (1997), Joint Secretary, Department of Higher Education, for a period of one year beyond July 29, 2025.

Rajesh Lakhani Assigned Additional Charge of Director General, NTA
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has assigned additional charge of the post of Director General, National Testing Agency (NTA), Ministry of Education, to Rajesh Lakhani, IAS (TN:1992), Commissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Department of School Education and Literacy. The assignment is for a period of one year from the date of assumption of charge or until the appointment of a regular incumbent, whichever is earlier.

Extension in Tenure of Himanshu Roy in Department of Pharmaceuticals
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Department of Pharmaceuticals for extension in the central deputation tenure of Himanshu Roy, IRS (IT:2011), Director, Department of Pharmaceuticals, for a period of three months beyond October 15, 2025, and up to January 15, 2026.

Rajesh Aggarwal Repatriated to Maharashtra Cadre
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the repatriation of Rajesh Aggarwal, IAS (MH:1989), Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, to his parent cadre on the request of the Government of Maharashtra.
