Crime Control & Justice Delivered

Bhopal Police took preventive action against 15,538 individuals, resulting in 2,809 arrests, 124 criminals exiled from the city, and 18 booked under the National Security Act. These efforts contributed to an 8% reduction in major crimes compared to 2024.

Swift justice followed: courts imposed 1 death sentence, 31 life imprisonments, and numerous long-term sentences ranging from 7 to 20 years.

High-Profile Crime Busts

The police recovered nearly ₹10 crore in stolen property, including:

Kohefiza Police – Jewelry worth ₹1.5 crore** recovered from burglars.
Kolar Road Police – Inter-state thieves captured; ₹1.5 crore in property recovered.
Nishatpura Police – Seized 3.33 kg gold, 803 g silver, and ₹4.5 lakh cash, totaling ₹3.45 crore.
Piplani Police – Exposed a fake currency racket, seizing equipment and notes worth over ₹2 lakh.
Chuna Bhatti Police – Recovered ₹60 lakh from a daring daylight burglary.

Tech-Savvy Cybercrime Control

Under the guidance of the Cyber Crime Branch, the city saw a 27%reduction in cyber fraud complaints. Innovative programs like Operation Antivirus, Cyber Desk, and Safe Click led to ₹15.53 crore in recovered frauds, and 2,108 mobile phones returned to victims.

Tackling Organized Crime & Gangs

Police identified 25 active gangs with 250 criminals. Operations led to arrests of notorious gang members, and seizures included 651 illegal firearms, narcotics worth ₹4.6 crore, and illegal arms factories. High-profile raids, including at the Irani Dera, captured 32 fugitives and recovered motorcycles, foreign currency, and even fake firearms.

Women & Child Safety – A Priority

Focused campaigns led to an 11% reduction in crimes against women, with significant drops in sexual assault, abduction, and dowry-related cases. Operation Muskaan rescued 202 missing girls nationwide. Special facilities for differently-abled victims were introduced across all stations.

Innovation & Citizen Engagement

Bhopal Police introduced QR code-based complaint systems, a digital police evidence repository at Teen Nagar, and strengthened helplines and cyber helpdesks. Citizens can now register complaints directly with the Police Commissioner’s office, ensuring faster resolutions.

Traffic & Road Safety Improvements

With 13 special traffic squads and modern IT monitoring, traffic accidents fell by 7.9%, fatalities by 1.04%, and injuries by 1.8%. Black spots and hazardous intersections were addressed in coordination with civic agencies, and new traffic signals improved road safety.

Combating Crime Through Combings

During regular combing patrols, over 11,232 criminals and warrant-holders were apprehended in 18 operations. The recent Irani Dera raid alone led to 22 men and 10 women arrested, many with cases across multiple states.
