THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM| Paradip Port Authority celebrated its 65th Port Foundation Day, commemorating over six decades of service to the nation’s maritime and trade ecosystem. The occasion was marked with a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony led by P. L. Haranadh, Chairman, Paradip Port Authority, in the presence of T. Venu Gopal, Deputy Chairman, along with senior officials and employees.

The Foundation Day celebrations reflected the port’s journey from a strategic maritime initiative to one of India’s key gateways for international trade. Over the years, Paradip Port has played a crucial role in strengthening India’s logistics backbone, contributing to regional development in Odisha and supporting the country’s growing economic aspirations.

Adding a special dimension to the event, Odisha’s rising sprinting talent Pratik Maharana was felicitated for his recent achievements at the 4th South Asian Senior Athletics Championships 2025. Maharana won a bronze medal in the men’s 200 metres and was a member of the Indian men’s 4×100 metres relay team that secured a silver medal, bringing pride to the state and the nation.

By honouring a young athlete on its Foundation Day, Paradip Port Authority underscored its commitment beyond core port operations, extending support to sports and youth development. The recognition served as an inspiration for aspiring athletes and highlighted the institution’s belief in nurturing excellence, discipline and perseverance.

As Paradip Port Authority steps into its 66th year, the Foundation Day celebration stood as a reminder of its rich legacy, its people-centric approach and its resolve to contribute not only to economic growth but also to the social and sporting fabric of the country.
