Anand Swaroop appointed Special Secy (Internal Security) in MHA; Anupama N. Chandra to head NHRC Investigation wing

By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM| The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has cleared a series of key senior-level appointments, additional charge arrangements, tenure extensions and a re-designation across the Ministry of Home Affairs, National Human Rights Commission, Department of Commerce, Department of Fisheries and the National Health Authority.

Anand Swaroop appointed Special Secretary (Internal Security)
Anand Swaroop, IPS (UP:1992), presently Director General (Investigation), NHRC, has been appointed Special Secretary (Internal Security) in the Ministry of Home Affairs in Level-17. He succeeds Praveen Vashista, IPS, and will hold the post from the date of assumption of charge till 31 August 2029, or until further orders.

Anupama Nilekar Chandra appointed DG (Investigation), NHRC
Anupama Nilekar Chandra, IPS (BH:1994), currently Special Director General, Sashastra Seema Bal, has been appointed Director General (Investigation) in the National Human Rights Commission in Level-16. She replaces Anand Swaroop and will serve from the date of assuming charge till 31 March 2031, or until further orders.

Deen Bandhu Singh given additional charge of SEZ Noida
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved entrustment of additional charge of Development Commissioner (JS level), Special Economic Zone, Noida, to Deen Bandhu Singh, CSS, Development Commissioner, Falta SEZ. The arrangement is for six months from 9 November 2025 to 8 May 2026, or till a regular incumbent joins.

Tenure of Sagar Mehra extended in Department of Fisheries
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved extension of tenure of Sagar Mehra, CSS, Joint Secretary, Department of Fisheries, beyond 10 March 2026. The extension will be effective till his superannuation on 30 June 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Nikhil Dhongri re-designated as Director in National Health Authority
The Competent Authority has approved re-designation of the post of Deputy Secretary held by Nikhil Dhongri, IRPS (2012), as Director in the National Health Authority under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. The re-designation is personal to him, effective from assumption of charge, and co-terminus with the mission or admissible CSS tenure.
