The reshuffle, dated January 29, 2026, aims to strengthen policing, administration, and specialized operations across the state.

Pankaj Kumar (1992 Batch)
Pankaj Kumar, earlier holding multiple additional charges at Police Headquarters, Bhopal, has been entrusted with expanded responsibilities as Additional Director General. He will now oversee CID and Special Police Headquarters, strengthening intelligence, operations, and administrative coordination.

Anant Kumar Singh (1994 Batch)
After completing central deputation, Anant Kumar Singh has been posted back to the state. He will serve as Additional Director General and Managing Director, MP Police Housing Corporation, focusing on infrastructure development and welfare of police personnel.

K.P. Venkateshwar Rao (1995 Batch)
K.P. Venkateshwar Rao, previously handling Narcotics at Police Headquarters, has been given additional charge of Technical Services and Anti-Naxal Operations. His role will enhance technology-driven policing and strengthen counter-extremism measures in sensitive regions.

Umesh Jangid (1997 Batch)
Umesh Jangid, former IG of Ujjain Zone, has been appointed Additional Director General and Transport Commissioner, MP. On deputation to the Transport Department, he will oversee road safety, transport regulation, and modernization initiatives across the state.

D. Srinivas Varma (1997 Batch)
D. Srinivas Varma has been assigned additional charge of Narcotics and Establishment at Police Headquarters. His responsibilities include strengthening anti-drug operations, personnel management, and administrative efficiency within the state police framework.

Vivek Sharma (1998 Batch)
Vivek Sharma, earlier serving as IG and Transport Commissioner, has been posted as Additional Director General at Police Headquarters. He will supervise key administrative and operational divisions, contributing to policy implementation and inter-departmental coordination.

Anurag Yadav (1998 Batch)
Anurag Yadav has been appointed Director, Sports and Youth Welfare, MP, on deputation. Moving from Police Headquarters, he will focus on promoting sports infrastructure, youth engagement, and talent development across districts.

Rakesh Gupta (1999 Batch)
Rakesh Gupta, formerly Director, Sports and Youth Welfare, has been posted as Additional Director General, Ujjain Zone. He will now oversee law and order, crime control, and policing standards in the important Ujjain region.

Ajay Singh (2002 Batch)
Ajay Singh, previously IG, Bhopal Dehat Zone, has been appointed IG (Planning) at Police Headquarters. He will be responsible for strategic planning, policy formulation, and strengthening operational preparedness statewide.

Harinarayan Chari Mishra (2003 Batch)
Harinarayan Chari Mishra, earlier Police Commissioner, Bhopal City, has been posted as IG, SSB at Police Headquarters. He will supervise special security battalions and enhance coordination in sensitive security operations.

Sanjay Kumar (2004 Batch)
Sanjay Kumar, former IG, Balaghat Zone, has been appointed Police Commissioner, Bhopal City. He will focus on urban policing, traffic management, crime prevention, and improving public-police relations in the capital.
