137 Group-A Officers Appointed as Central Nodal Officers for PM SHRI School Inspections; IAS Leads Service-Wise Representation

By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM| The Government of India has appointed 137 Group-A officers as Central Nodal Officers (CNOs) for field inspection of PM SHRI schools across States and UTs, in line with directions issued during the Prime Minister-chaired PRAGATI review.
The service-wise composition of the CNOs reflects a broad-based administrative deployment. The largest share comes from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) – 55 officers, followed by the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) – 30 officers. Other services include Indian Foreign Service (IFS) – 7, Indian Forest Service (IFoS) – 5, Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) – 8, Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) – 9, Indian Statistical Service (ISS) – 6, Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) – 4, Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME) – 4, Central Secretariat Service (CSS) – 3, and other organised Group-A services – 6 officers.
All officers are of Joint Secretary rank or equivalent and will conduct inspections between 16–25 February 2026, focusing on NEP-2020 outcomes, infrastructure and governance standards under the PM SHRI scheme.
