By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM| The Coal India Medical Conference – CIMECON 2026 was inaugurated on 01 March 2026 at Bilaspur under the aegis of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL). The national-level conference was formally opened by Brijesh Kumar Tripathi, Chief Vigilance Officer, Coal India Limited, along with Harish Duhan, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, SECL. Senior officials including Biranchi Das, Director (Human Resources); D. Sunil Kumar, Director (Finance); Himanshu Jain, Chief Vigilance Officer; and Ramesh Chandra Mahapatra, Director (Technical – Planning & Projects), SECL, were present. The conference souvenir was also unveiled during the inaugural session.

CIMECON 2026 witnessed participation from over 250 doctors representing Coal India and its subsidiaries, along with eminent medical experts from reputed institutions across the country. Scientific deliberations focused on occupational health in mining areas, early disease diagnosis, advanced medical technologies, emergency management, telemedicine, digital health monitoring, and hospital administration. Experts presented research papers and case studies highlighting innovative treatment approaches and effective healthcare models aimed at strengthening mining healthcare systems.

The three-day conference concluded on 02 March 2026 with the valedictory ceremony graced by Dr. Vinay Ranjan, Director (Human Resources), Coal India Limited. He highlighted Coal India’s extensive medical network comprising nearly 1,200 doctors serving across 16 major hospitals and over 80 peripheral hospitals nationwide. Awards for Best Case Presentation were distributed, and participants were felicitated. CIMECON 2026 emerged as a dynamic platform promoting knowledge exchange, technological advancement, and the vision of building a modern, compassionate, and technology-enabled healthcare ecosystem for “Healthy Mines.”
