Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL), Barauni, reaffirmed its commitment to social welfare and inclusive development through two significant Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at empowering persons with disabilities and enhancing youth employability in Begusarai district of Bihar.
In collaboration with ALIMCO, HURL organised a special programme for the distribution of assistive devices to persons with disabilities at Barauni. The programme was inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp in the presence of Giriraj Singh, Shri Rajneesh Kumar, BUH Barauni & VP (Finance), senior officials of HURL and ALIMCO, along with other distinguished guests.
The initiative focused on improving mobility, independence, and quality of life for beneficiaries by providing essential assistive aids. The distributed devices are expected to help differently-abled individuals carry out daily activities with greater confidence, dignity, and self-reliance. Beneficiaries and their families expressed heartfelt gratitude, making the occasion deeply emotional and inspiring.
On the same occasion, HURL also launched ‘Project Saksham’, a major skill development and livelihood generation initiative in Begusarai under its CSR programme. The project was inaugurated by Giriraj Singh in the presence of senior dignitaries from HURL, NSDC-affiliated training partners, and local administration officials.
Under Project Saksham, two modern training centres have been established at Chakballi and Barauni to provide industry-oriented skill training to nearly 875 youth in areas such as Retail Sales, Computer & Peripheral Technology, CCC, Assistant Baking Technician, Vermi Compost Production, and communication skills for competitive examinations. The initiative aims to create sustainable livelihood opportunities through skill enhancement, employment, and self-employment, reflecting HURL’s continued commitment towards youth empowerment and community development.
