Srinivas today held a comprehensive meeting with B. Sai Ram, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Coal India Limited (CIL), at the State Secretariat in Jaipur.
A senior IAS officer of the 1989 batch, V. Srinivas has earned recognition for his extensive contributions to public administration, governance reforms and policy implementation at both the state and national levels. The meeting reflected the Rajasthan Government’s commitment to strengthening engagement with key public sector enterprises to support the state’s expanding development agenda.
Discussions reportedly centered on coal availability, energy requirements, infrastructure development, industrial expansion and enhanced coordination between the state administration and Coal India. As Rajasthan continues to witness rising power demand driven by rapid industrialisation and infrastructure growth, ensuring uninterrupted fuel supply for thermal power generation remains a key priority.
The interaction also comes at a time when Coal India is undergoing a strategic transformation under the leadership of B. Sai Ram. The Maharatna PSU has intensified efforts to boost coal production, modernise mining operations and improve supply-chain efficiency. Simultaneously, Coal India is expanding into renewable energy, coal gasification and critical mineral projects, aligning with India’s long-term energy transition goals.
Recent initiatives under Sai Ram’s stewardship include investments in first-mile connectivity infrastructure, enhanced logistics systems and a roadmap for significant renewable energy capacity addition. These measures aim to strengthen national energy security while advancing sustainability objectives.
The meeting underscored the shared commitment of Rajasthan and Coal India towards fostering economic growth, ensuring energy security and supporting the state’s ambitious development vision through sustained institutional collaboration.
