RECPDCL Hands Over Musalgaon Power Transmission SPV

By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM| REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSU under the Ministry of Power, handed over Musalgaon Power Transmission Limited, the project-specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), to the successful bidder, M/s Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited, on 09 September 2026.

M/s Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited emerged as the successful bidder through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, the Bid Process Coordinator, for development of Maharashtra’s intra-state transmission project on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.

The SPV was handed over by Ratnesh Kumar, General Manager (Engg.), RECPDCL, to Amit R. Naik, Chief Engineer (TBCB), Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited, in the presence of senior officials from Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited, Maharashtra STU, and RECPDCL.

The transmission project broadly envisages establishment of a 220/132/33 kV AIS substation at Musalgaon, 220 kV D/c line of around 111 km from Musalgaon to Babhaleshwar (existing) & Raymond (existing) and 132 kV D/c line of around 13 km from Musalgaon to Sinner (existing) along with associated works. The implementation scheduled of project is 12 months at an estimated cost of Rs. 560 crores.
