By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM|New Delhi: Dr Manoj Kumar Jhawar, MD & CEO, PTC India Limited, delivered an insightful lecture during the inaugural session of the 19th Environment & Energy Conclave of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, held in New Delhi on the theme “Energy Security for Atmanirbhar Bharat in a Changing Geopolitical Landscape.”
The conclave brought together distinguished leaders, policymakers and experts from the energy, infrastructure and business ecosystem to deliberate on the emerging challenges and opportunities shaping India’s energy future.
Dr Jhawar’s address provided valuable perspectives on the evolving energy landscape and the strategic importance of strengthening energy security as India advances towards a more resilient and self-reliant economy. His insights highlighted the need for a forward-looking approach to energy planning, greater resilience across the energy value chain and coordinated efforts among stakeholders to navigate an increasingly complex global environment.
The conclave was presided over by Shailesh Kumar, Energy Minister, Government of Bihar. The event witnessed the participation of several eminent personalities, including Deb A Mukherjee, MD, Cenergist; Ajay Mathur, Mentor, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and former Director General, International Solar Alliance; Jayant Jha, Director (Commercial), MECON Limited; and Gautam Ray, former President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The deliberations focused on India’s changing energy dynamics and the strategic imperatives for ensuring reliable, affordable and sustainable energy supplies. Speakers also shared perspectives on how India can strengthen its energy ecosystem while responding effectively to geopolitical uncertainties and global shifts in the energy sector.
The 19th Environment & Energy Conclave thus provided an important platform for meaningful dialogue on energy security and Atmanirbhar Bharat, bringing together diverse expertise to explore pathways towards a robust, resilient and future-ready energy economy.
