The latest records reflect sustained participation by market participants and the growing acceptance of GIFT Nifty as an international trading platform linked to India’s equity market.

NSE Partners with Augmont to Promote Electronic Gold Receipts

NSE Empanels Augmont as Key Partner for EGR Ecosystem

The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) has empanelled Augmont Gold Tech Private Limited, a subsidiary of Augmont Enterprises Limited, as a key partner for promoting **Electronic Gold Receipts (EGRs)**. The partnership aims to simplify EGR creation and extinguishment while encouraging wider participation in EGR trading.

Augmont will contribute its expertise across the gold value chain, along with technical and operational support, to strengthen the digital framework surrounding EGRs. The arrangement is expected to facilitate conversion of physical gold into EGRs and their subsequent conversion back into physical gold within the regulated ecosystem.

EGRs are dematerialised securities representing ownership of physical gold stored in SEBI-accredited vaults and held electronically through depositories. Fully backed by physical gold, they can be traded on exchanges and provide investors with a regulated mechanism for participating in the gold market.

NSE said the partnership is intended to support greater transparency, efficient price discovery and wider market participation, while Augmont highlighted its commitment to making physical-to-digital gold conversion simpler and more accessible.
