ACC Approves 11 Overseas Appointments, One Tenure Extension at JS, Director and DS Levels

By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM| The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a series of strategic overseas appointments and one tenure extension for senior officers at the Joint Secretary, Director and Deputy Secretary levels. The postings span key multilateral institutions and Indian Missions abroad, including the Asian Development Bank, International Monetary Fund, World Bank, WTO, ICAO, SAARC Secretariat and Embassies in Tokyo, Rome and Washington DC, reinforcing India’s diplomatic and economic engagement across global platforms.

Baldeo Purushartha, IAS (PB:2002), has been appointed Senior Adviser to the Executive Director at the Asian Development Bank, Manila, for three years, after curtailing his tenure as Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs.

Rahul Jain, IAS (MP:2005), has been appointed Senior Adviser to the Executive Director (India) at the International Monetary Fund, Washington DC, for three years, curtailing his central deputation in the Corporate Affairs Ministry.

Brij Mohan Mishra, IAS (AGMUT:2008), has been appointed Minister (Economic and Commercial) at the Embassy of India, Tokyo, for three years, following curtailment of his central deputation in the Commerce Ministry.

Balamurugan D., IAS (BH:2005), has been appointed Minister (Agriculture) at the Embassy of India, Rome, for a three-year foreign assignment after curtailment of his central deputation in the Corporate Affairs Ministry.

Satyajit Mohanty, IRS (C&IT:1999), has been appointed India’s Representative to the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Montreal, Canada, for three years under the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

The ACC has approved a two-year extension in Hemang Jani’s tenure as Senior Adviser to the Executive Director at the World Bank, Washington DC, extending his foreign deputation until July 16, 2029.

Kapil Patidar, IES (2011), has been appointed Adviser to the Executive Director (India) at the International Monetary Fund, Washington DC, for three years after curtailing his central deputation in the Department of Economic Affairs.

Gopalakrishnan Ganesan, IRAS (2009), has been appointed Counsellor (Economic) at the Embassy of India, Washington DC, for three years, following curtailment of his central deputation in the Ministry of Steel.

Aditya Rajendra Bhojgadhiya, IA&AS (2013), has been appointed First Secretary at India’s Permanent Mission to the World Trade Organization, Geneva, for three years after curtailing his central deputation with the National Testing Agency.

Jivisha Joshi Gangopadhyay, IRTS (2013), has been appointed First Secretary (Legal) at India’s Permanent Mission to the World Trade Organization, Geneva, for a three-year foreign deputation under the Department of Commerce.

Subhash Kumar, IDAS (2011), has been appointed Director at the SAARC Secretariat, Kathmandu, Nepal, for three years under the Ministry of External Affairs after curtailing his central deputation in the Defence Ministry.
