ACC Approves Key Bureaucratic Postings and Extensions

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared several important appointments and deputation extensions across ministries and departments, marking a significant administrative reshuffle.
The ACC has also extended the central deputation tenure of Dipti Mohil Chewla, IDAS (1996), who is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Defence, Ministry of Defence, up to May 6, 2026, or until further orders.
In another key appointment, Prashant Kumar Singh, IAS (Manipur:1993), has been appointed as Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. He replaces Puneet Kumar Goel, IAS (AGMUT:1991).
The ACC has also approved the repatriation of Shyam Bhagat Negi, IPS (Himachal Pradesh:1990), Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat (SR), to his parent cadre on personal grounds.
Further, the Committee has sanctioned the temporary upgradation of posts in the Food Corporation of India (FCI). The following officers will now hold the upgraded post of General Manager at Joint Secretary level as a personal measure:
Vishesh Garhpale, IAS (Madhya Pradesh:2008), General Manager, FCI (Madhya Pradesh), until September 7, 2025. Sharandeep Kaur Brar, IAS (Haryana:2009), General Manager, FCI (Haryana), until August 20, 2026.
In the domain of vigilance, the ACC has also cleared the extension of central deputation for Priyanka Singh, IRS (IT:2006), who is serving as Director in the Central Vigilance Commission. Her tenure has been extended for one more year, up to August 12, 2026, or until further orders. She has been on central deputation since August 13, 2020.
In a major development in the defence sector, the ACC has approved the appointment of Madhubala Kalluri, General Manager at Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI), as Director (Finance), MIDHANI. Her appointment is expected to strengthen the financial leadership at the Defence PSU, known for its strategic materials production.
These decisions reflect the government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the administrative machinery and enhancing efficiency across departments.
