By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM | On 23 November 2025, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the Department of Financial Services’ proposal to appoint seven Executive Directors to the Boards of various Public Sector Banks, marking a major leadership expansion in the nationalised banking network.
The approvals come soon after the Financial Services Institutions Bureau concluded its evaluation of 80 candidates between July 19 and August 4, 2025, finalising an 11-member merit panel for Executive Director positions for 2025–26.
Amit Kumar Srivastava Recommended as ED
Amit Kumar Srivastava has been cleared for ED roles across nationalised banks including Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Andhra Bank, Syndicate Bank and Allahabad Bank, reflecting high confidence in his leadership capabilities.
E Ratan Kumar Recommended as ED
E Ratan Kumar’s name, placed high in the FSIB merit list, has been approved for appointment as ED in Public Sector Banks, backed by his operational excellence and long banking experience.
Amresh Prasad Recommended as ED

The FSIB panel additionally includes Sushanta Kumar Mohanty, Uday Sankar Majumder, Rajesh Kumar Singh and A. K. Vinod, whose appointments may be taken up subject to vacancies in FY 2025–26.
