ACC Clears Key Decisions on Senior IAS Officers

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved two significant decisions concerning senior IAS officers, covering the waiver of an extended cooling-off period for Gyanesh Bharti and the additional charge of a senior position in the Department of Telecommunications to Shyamal Misra.
ACC Waives Extended Cooling-off Period for Gyanesh Bharti, IAS
New Delhi, October 2, 2026: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the waiver of the extended cooling-off period imposed on Gyanesh Bharti, a 1998-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre.
The condition was imposed following his premature repatriation from central deputation to his parent cadre through an order dated August 10, 2026. The latest decision waives the additional restriction.
Shyamal Misra Gets Additional Charge of Additional Secretary, DoT
New Delhi, October 2, 2026: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has accorded ex-post facto approval for entrusting Shyamal Misra, a 1996-batch IAS officer of the Haryana cadre, with the additional charge of Additional Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications.
Misra, who is currently Administrator of Digital Bharat Nidhi, will hold the additional charge from April 27 to December 31, 2026, or until a regular incumbent is appointed, whichever is earlier.
