The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs to grant the Apex Pay Scale (Level-17 in the pay matrix) to two senior IPS officers with immediate effect.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training on February 7, 2026, B Srinivasan, IPS (Bihar:1992), currently serving as Director General, NSG, has been granted the Apex scale. He is due to retire on August 31, 2027.

Similarly, Sapna Tewari, IPS (Odisha:1992), presently serving as Special Director in the Intelligence Bureau, has also been accorded the Apex Pay Scale. She is scheduled to retire on April 30, 2026.

The decision follows the Office Memorandum issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on January 27, 2026, and reflects the government’s recognition of the officers’ seniority, experience, and contributions to internal security and intelligence administration.
