As Shaktikanta Das nears the conclusion of his tenure as the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), attention is turning towards the upcoming Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting, set for December 4-6. With his current term set to expire on December 10, speculation is growing over the possibility of an extension for Das. It is also uncertain which of the three senior RBI officials on the six-member monetary policy committee will still be present in February, as Das’ contract is set to expire on December 10.
