An exemplary of showing parental and moral policing came to light in minor rape case in Bhopal. A three-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped by an unidentified person before being dumped near a bridge in Bhopal. As 108 ambulance failed to respond, 3-year-old rape victim was taken by an SI by autorickshaw to hospital. The minor was admitted to Sultania hospital in a critical condition, where the doctors treating her reportedly confirmed that she has been raped, in this case where four police personnels of two police stations were punished under suspension for directing the victim’s kin from one police station to another for lodging of FIR. On the other hand an exemplary of showing parental and moral policing came to light wherein Additional superintendent of police (ASP) Rajesh Singh Chandel took initiative to sign the formality form of Hospital to get the child earliest treatment, as per reports Sultania hospital official were adamant to get the form signed from the girl’s parent who were not traced by that time. Observing the critical condition of child which could have been fatal in any delay of treatment (ASP) Chandel came forward and performed the parental duty for the child for saving her life by signing the form.
