Applications Invited for Director General Post in Narcotics Control Bureau

The Ministry of Home Affairs has invited applications for filling one post of Director General (DG) in the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on deputation basis. The post, in Pay Matrix Level 16/17, is likely to become available with effect from 24 May 2026. The appointment will be governed by Department of Personnel and Training norms, with the deputation period ordinarily not exceeding five years.
The post is open to officers of All India Services and Group A Central Services holding analogous posts on a regular basis. Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree and at least eight years’ experience in enforcement of regulatory laws, investigation of economic or criminal offences, and intelligence collection. The maximum age limit is 58 years on the closing date.
Eligible officers must forward applications in the prescribed format, along with APARs, vigilance and integrity clearances, and cadre clearance, within six weeks from the date of advertisement. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
