Appointments Committee Approves Key Bureaucratic Assignments and Extensions

New Delhi, May 30, 2025 — The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared a series of important bureaucratic appointments and tenure extensions across key ministries, reaffirming the government’s strategic continuity and leadership planning.

Vir Vikram Yadav Assigned Additional Charge as CPCB Chairman
The ACC has approved the assignment of additional charge of Chairman, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, to Vir Vikram Yadav, IAS (OR:1996). Yadav, who currently serves as Additional Secretary in the same ministry, will hold the position until the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Sanjay Lohiya’s Deputation Extended by Two Years
The tenure of Sanjay Lohiya, IAS (AM:1994), Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Mines, has been extended by two years beyond October 27, 2025. He will continue in his current role up to October 27, 2027, or until further orders.

Juhi Verma’s Deputation Extended in Ministry of Home Affairs
The ACC has also approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for the extension of central deputation tenure of Ms. Juhi Verma, Indian Defence Accounts Service (2010), who serves as Director in the Ministry. Her tenure has been extended for two years, from September 27, 2025 to September 27, 2027.

Yogendra Singh Appointed Private Secretary to Minister for Textiles
In another key development, Yogendra Singh, IAS (BH:2013), has been appointed as Private Secretary to the Minister for Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh. He will serve in the Ministry of Textiles at the level of Deputy Secretary for a period of five years.

These appointments reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure stability and effective governance across critical ministries.
