By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM| Ayush Gupta formally assumed charge as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone-3, yesterday evening at the Zone-3 office, marking the beginning of a new administrative responsibility in his policing career. Known for his disciplined approach and grounded personality, the young IPS officer has already earned recognition for his sincere field-oriented policing style during earlier assignments in Madhya Pradesh.
Belonging to the 2021 batch of the Indian Police Service from the Madhya Pradesh cadre, Ayush Gupta previously served as Superintendent of Police in Chhindwara, where he gained valuable experience in law enforcement, public interaction and district administration. His appointment as DCP Zone-3 is being viewed as an important responsibility for a young officer with strong academic credentials and a focused professional outlook.
Originally from Rajaram Nagar in Dewas, Ayush Gupta secured an impressive 98th rank in the Civil Services Examination. His journey reflects determination, consistency and dedication towards public service. After completing his B.Tech from Delhi, he began preparing for the UPSC examination while pursuing engineering studies itself. He stayed in Delhi from 2015 onwards to focus on his preparation and gradually built his strategy through disciplined self-study.
Before joining the IPS, he had already achieved success in the Civil Services Examination in 2019, when he was selected as Assistant Security Commissioner. However, driven by a larger goal and a deeper commitment to policing, he took leave for one year to continue his UPSC preparation and subsequently secured a higher rank in his second attempt.
Colleagues and officials who have interacted with him describe Ayush Gupta as a calm, approachable and professionally committed officer who believes in balanced policing and administrative responsiveness. His academic background in engineering, combined with his methodical preparation journey, has contributed to a practical and analytical approach in handling responsibilities.
As he begins his tenure as DCP Zone-3, expectations remain high that his youthful enthusiasm, administrative discipline and field experience will further strengthen policing and public coordination in the zone.
