BEL Presents ₹934.47 Crore Dividend Cheque to Government at DPSU Performance Review

By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM|BENGALURU, September 2, 2026: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh chaired the annual performance review of Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) in Bengaluru, highlighting the significant contribution of DPSUs to India’s growing defence production and the country’s pursuit of self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
During the event, BEL CMD Manoj Jain presented a dividend cheque of ₹934.47 crore to the Government of India, comprising interim and final dividends against the government’s equity holding in Bharat Electronics Limited for the financial year 2025–26.
Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth and Secretary (Defence Production) Sanjeev Kumar were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the annual review, Rajnath Singh noted that India achieved defence production worth approximately ₹1.8 lakh crore during 2025–26, with DPSUs contributing around ₹1.29 lakh crore. He described the achievement as a reflection of the country’s significant progress towards building a strong and Aatmanirbhar defence industrial base.
During the interaction, Manoj Jain also briefed the Defence Minister on BEL’s innovative products, indigenous technologies and capabilities, underlining the company’s contribution to strengthening India’s domestic defence manufacturing ecosystem.
The annual performance review provided an opportunity to assess the progress of DPSUs and their contribution to India’s defence preparedness, technological capabilities and the broader objective of achieving greater self-reliance in defence production.
