‘Bijli Utsav’ organized by REC in Karnataka

Gurugram, 3rd March 2023: As a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ – to celebrate 75 years of Independence, REC Limited, a Maharatna Company under the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India organized ‘Bijli Utsav’ in Kudlapura village, Nanjangud block of Mysore district and adjoining villages in Karnataka. Dignitaries such as Jayavibhava Swamy, IAS, Managing Director Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC), Umesh Chandra K.V, Director (Technical) – CESC, Smt. Rajeshwari, President – Grama Panchayat Kudlapura & Guruprasad, Vice president – Grama Panchayat Kudlapura as well as Ramaswamy R, GM (Projects) – CESC, Lokesh, GM (Technical) – CESC, Nagesh, SEE – Mysore Circle and Somya Kant, Sr. Chief Program Manager Karnataka – REC graced the occasion.
The event witnessed various sessions by dignitaries and esteemed guests highlighting consumer rights, challenges faced during electrification in remote areas, and how the quality of life improved with access to power. Beneficiaries from the villages were also invited to share their experience and views on how electricity had transformed their lives. Various cultural programs were organized to impart knowledge on energy conservation and the benefits of electricity. The event concluded with the distribution of LED bulbs to the beneficiaries.
