New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has granted ex-post facto approval to the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways for the temporary assignment of the Chairperson’s post at V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority.

As per the approval, Bimal Kumar Jha, Deputy Chairperson of V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, was entrusted with additional charge of the Chairperson (JS level) role during two periods: from December 19 to 20, 2023, and again from January 1 to February 25, 2024.

Additionally, Sunil Paliwal, IAS (TN:1993), who serves as Chairperson of Chennai Port Authority, was given additional charge of the same post at V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority from December 21 to 31, 2023.

This decision ensures continuity in leadership at the port authority during the specified periods.
