The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of B. N. Krishnaiah, IAS (KN:2000)(Retd.), as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Minister for Heavy Industries & Steel, H.D. Kumaraswamy. The appointment is on a contract basis in the Ministry of Heavy Industries, at the level of Deputy Secretary.

Krishnaiah will serve for a period of 3 years, 6 months, and 18 days — the remaining duration of a four-year tenure as OSD at the Deputy Secretary level. His term will commence from the date he assumes charge of the post. The appointment will be on a co-terminus basis with the Minister or until he ceases to function as OSD to the Minister, whichever is earlier.
