Mumbai, June 2, 2025: BSE Ltd., Asia’s oldest stock exchange, today launched BSE Nivesh Mitra, a free investment education app developed under the aegis of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The app is designed to empower aspiring investors by offering a safe, simulation-based environment to learn about equity and mutual fund markets using virtual currency and historical market data.

Built to promote financial literacy, BSE Nivesh Mitra operates independently of any promotional or advisory motive, ensuring purely educational content. It features step-by-step guidance on entering the securities market, including videos on e-KYC, demat and trading account processes. Other features include a personalized risk profiler, a user-friendly dashboard for simulated trading, and a growing library of videos covering mutual funds, asset classes, and market mechanisms.

The app was launched at BSE headquarters in the presence of Shashi Kumar Valsakumar, Executive Director, SEBI, and Sundararaman Ramamurthy, MD & CEO, BSE, Khushro Bulsara, Chief General Manager, BSE -IPF among other dignitaries.

Available for free on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, the app is part of SEBI’s broader vision of promoting responsible investing. Plans are underway to include more exchange-traded products in future updates, further expanding its educational scope.
