CBI Arrests Two SDS&TE North Central Railways in Bribery Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Senior Divisional Signal & Telecom Engineer and a Divisional Signal & Telecom Engineer, both of North Central Railway, Allahabad in a bribery case of Rs. 10 lakh. A case was registered against both the accused on a complaint alleging the demand of Rs. 10 lakh from the complainant for making payment against Running Account Bills of the complainant’s firm.
CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while demanding and accepting an alleged bribe of Rs. 10 lakh from the complainant. Searches were conducted at the office/residential premises of the accused persons. Cash of approximately Rs. 63.06 lakh; gold jewellery approximately of 387 grams; other jewellery items; Fixed Deposits and other investment papers were recovered from the premises of the Senior Divisional Signal & Telecom Engineer. Incriminating documents have also been recovered from premises of accused persons.
Both the arrested accused were produced before the Competent Court, Lucknow on 10.03.2019 and remanded to Judicial Custody for 14 days
