(THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM) New Delhi, May 19, 2025:The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has initiated the process for filling up the post of Chairperson (Joint Secretary level) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), Navi Mumbai — one of India’s premier container ports.

The position, classified at the Joint Secretary level, is a crucial leadership role responsible for overseeing operations, infrastructure development, and strategic planning at JNPA. The appointment is expected to be made on a deputation basis, inviting eligible officers from the All India Services and Central Group ‘A’ Services.

According to the official notification, interested and eligible officers are required to submit their applications through the proper channel. The selection will be processed as per the guidelines laid down by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) and the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

The post offers a significant opportunity to contribute to India’s maritime growth and to lead modernization and expansion initiatives at JNPA, which handles a substantial share of India’s container traffic and is a critical hub in the country’s port ecosystem.
