Chhattisgarh government appoints Binay Kumar Singh, as DG, EOW

Late evening Chhattisgarh government appointed Binay Kumar Singh ( IPS 1987 ) as DGP ( Anti Corruption Bureau , Economic Offences Wing , SIT and CID ) . There were multiple reports of him joining as DG Naxal operations but springing a surprise the government has given him powerful portfolios of ACB , EOW when CG has been witnessing politics over very sensitive cases related to the last regime . He was on deputation for the last 16 years in the Intelligence Bureau holding the charge of Additional Director (Technical Operations). Known for his integrity and keeping low profile , Singh has served as SP of Bastar , Dewas , Khandwa , Guna and Satna along with Interim charge of Indore in undivided Madhya Pradesh.He was DIG Intelligence in CG before proceeding on deputation to the Bureau . Sources tell Shri Singh was a popular officer amongst the staff of the Bureau and held multiple important assignments related to national security in the last 17 years .He is a passout of FBI Academy in Quantico and LA having done multiple courses with the top investigaton agency of the USA . He was awarded the IPM , PPM , bar to internal security medal , Operation Parakram Medal and Chhattisgarh Suraksha Padak .
