Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) observed its 74 th Foundation Day

The 74 th Foundation Day of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) was observed throughout the valley on 7th July, 2021 amid Covid-19 pandemic duly adhering to the safety guidelines issued by the Governments. On this auspicious occasion, Shri Ram Naresh Singh, Chairman at DVC Hqrs., Kolkata and respective Head of Projects of various field formations of DVC unfurled the DVC flag.

Employees maintained a two-minute silence and offered floral tribute to departed souls of the deceased DVC employees due to Covid-19. On this day an MOU was also signed between DVC & EESL to explore collaboration in
the area of Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy, Resource Conservation and E-
mobility to promote De-Carbonization of DVC.

DVC was established in 1948 by an Act of the Constituent Assembly of India owned by Govt. of India, Govt. of Jharkhand (erstwhile Bihar) and Govt. of West Bengal with the objective of carrying out, in the 24,235 sq. km. area of the Damodar Valley, activites relating to flood control, irrigation, socio-economic development, education, health afforestation, power generation & transmission and distribution of electricity. As on date DVC is having 6897.2 MW installed power generation capacity, 7826 Ckms of T&D Network, Major Consumers in seven states and beyond, 629 villages under CSR program etc.
