The event served as a key platform for dialogue, innovation, and collaboration among international railway leaders.

Kumar’s presence at the assembly was marked by insightful interactions with some of the most influential figures in the global railway sector, including François Davenne, Director General of UIC; Philippe Lorand, Director (International Relations), UIC; Sohn Hoon, Executive Director of the Korea Railway Innovation Institute; and other senior officials from UIC and Korea National Railways.

A highlight of the event was Kumar’s presentation of the DFCCIL Coffee Table Book to the dignitaries — a symbolic gesture underscoring India’s commitment to modernizing and revolutionizing its freight infrastructure. Through this curated publication, Kumar showcased the transformational journey and vision behind India’s Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFCs).

Speaking during the assembly, Kumar emphasized how the DFCs are proving to be a “game changer” in the realm of freight transportation across India. With enhanced capacity, faster transit times, and reduced logistics costs, these corridors are not only decongesting traditional passenger routes but are also catalyzing economic growth and industrial development across the country.

“India’s Dedicated Freight Corridors are more than just infrastructure projects — they are critical arteries fueling the nation’s economic engine,” Kumar noted, highlighting the corridors’ role in improving supply chain efficiency and environmental sustainability.

The 38th UIC Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly served as a vital platform for knowledge exchange, and Kumar’s participation positioned DFCCIL at the forefront of international freight innovation. His interactions with global railway leaders reaffirmed India’s strategic commitment to collaborative development and to becoming a model of sustainable, high-capacity freight rail transport.

As India continues to leap forward in infrastructure modernization, the DFCCIL stands out as a beacon of transformative potential — shaping the future of logistics, trade, and economic growth.
