The Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) has issued a directive to all concerned offices, emphasizing the importance of regular updates to the Executive Record (ER) Sheets of IAS officers. These updates are essential for effective personnel management and contribute to the broader goal of good governance. ER sheets, which contain vital information about IAS officers’ profiles, are crucial for managing placements and shaping future career prospects.

In line with this, IAS officers have been given the opportunity to update their ER sheets and submit them online to the Cadre Controlling Authority. Once the information is confirmed by the respective authority, the ER Sheet will be updated online. A dedicated module on the SUPREMO portal (https://supremo.nic.in/) allows officers to enter their updates, including details on posting and work experience, educational qualifications gained after service entry, contact information, and records of awards and publications.

However, DOPT has expressed concern over the slow progress in this process. Many ER sheets remain unupdated by the officers, and in some cases, those finalized by officers have not yet been approved by the Cadre Controlling Authorities.

To address this, DOPT has requested that IAS officers be instructed to update their ER sheets immediately. Additionally, Nodal officers have been urged to ensure the correctness of the entries and promptly approve them, facilitating the smooth and timely posting of updated ER sheets on the SUPREMO portal and preventing any delays in the system.
