Dr. MJ Khan Strengthens India’s Global Agriculture Vision Through Strategic Engagements

By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM| In a notable step towards reinforcing India’s growing leadership in global agriculture, food trade and food security, prominent agriculture leader Dr. MJ Khan played a key role in high-level discussions held in New Delhi with Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and senior government officials.
The meetings reflected India’s increasing focus on building international partnerships in agriculture while positioning the country as a reliable global partner in food security and sustainable agricultural development. Dr. Khan, who has consistently advocated stronger collaboration between governments, institutions and industry stakeholders, emerged as an important voice in advancing this dialogue.
During the interaction, the delegation discussed initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life of farmers, strengthening India’s presence in the global agriculture landscape, and expanding cooperation with African nations. The deliberations also focused on long-term food security strategies and the sharing of India’s agricultural expertise with developing regions across the world.
As Chairman of the Indian Chamber of Food & Agriculture, Dr. Khan has been instrumental in creating global platforms for policy dialogue, agricultural innovation and international cooperation. His sustained efforts in connecting policymakers, agribusiness leaders and international organizations have helped position India as a major stakeholder in global food systems.
The Union Minister expressed keen interest in the initiatives of the World Agriculture Forum and invited the organization to work closely with the Government of India on advancing the global trade and food security agenda. Dr. Khan highlighted how the forum could contribute through international partnerships, policy exchanges and collaboration among countries and institutions.
The delegation included prominent industry leaders and international representatives such as Mahesh Patel, Jeff Peet, Deepak Pareek and Shikher Saxena. Abhishek Dev was also present during the discussions.
Earlier, the delegation met Atish Chandra to brief him on global initiatives being undertaken by the World Agriculture Forum and discuss future engagements with India in the agriculture and food sectors.
The meetings underline the growing importance of collaborative diplomacy in agriculture and highlight the proactive role being played by Dr. MJ Khan in building bridges between India and the global agricultural community. His efforts continue to contribute towards shaping meaningful conversations around food security, agricultural trade and farmer-centric development at both national and international levels.
