(THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM) New Delhi: Engineers India Limited (EIL), a premier engineering consultancy and EPC company under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, has reported a historic performance in FY2024-25. The company registered an all-time high order inflow of ₹8,214 crore, propelling its total order book to a robust ₹11,700 crore. This remarkable growth was further underscored by a standalone Profit After Tax (PAT) of ₹465 crore — the highest recorded in the past decade
Strategic Sectoral Gains
The consultancy segment led the performance matrix, contributing 56% to the total order inflow, reaffirming EIL’s standing as a trusted advisor in the energy and infrastructure sectors. Energy-efficient infrastructure projects — including cutting-edge data centres, research laboratories, and academic complexes — accounted for 36% of the inflow, reflecting EIL’s diversification and adaptability to new-age infrastructure demands. Notably, about 36% of this business was secured through competitive bidding, demonstrating EIL’s agility in navigating a dynamic market.
International Presence Reaches New Heights
In a notable global achievement, EIL’s international business fetched ₹1,077 crore — the highest in the last ten years. The company played a significant role in the prestigious Dangote Oil Refinery project in Nigeria and continues to make its mark in countries such as Mongolia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Guyana, and various African nations. Strengthening its regional footprint, EIL is expanding its UAE office into a key regional hub and preparing to launch a new office in Saudi Arabia — signaling a strong push in the Middle East and North African (MENA) regions.
Accelerating Green Energy Transition
EIL is increasingly taking center stage in India’s green energy transition. It is executing a biorefinery project for Assam Bio-Refinery Pvt. Ltd. (ABRPL), and developing ethanol production facilities for Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) and NTPC. Additionally, the company is establishing a Bio-Aviation Turbine Fuel (Bio-ATF) facility for MRPL. Another major milestone was the successful delivery of EPCM services for a 10 MW green hydrogen plant for GAIL in Vijaipur, Uttar Pradesh — a pioneering step toward clean energy adoption in the country.
Collaborations and Innovation Drive
Demonstrating a collaborative approach to growth, EIL entered into multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) during FY25 with prominent partners such as BP, Sunrise CSP, Munition India Limited, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), and Detect Technologies. These partnerships encompass a wide spectrum of innovation — from refining and solar thermal technologies to defence infrastructure, railway station redevelopment, and AI-powered video analytics.
Boosting Domestic Ecosystem and Innovation
Strengthening its commitment to ‘Make in India,’ EIL onboarded 11 new indigenous suppliers and 46 MSME suppliers. In the refinery segment, domestic procurement stood at an impressive 95%, while petrochemical projects saw 82% domestic content — showcasing the company’s alignment with national priorities in manufacturing and self-reliance.
EIL’s innovation arm, EngSUI (Engineers Start-Up Initiative), also made significant strides with over ₹20 crore committed and ₹12 crore already disbursed to promising startups. The company’s intellectual property portfolio expanded with 27 patents and 3 trademarks filed during the year, underscoring its focus on R\&D and future-ready solutions. Additionally, EIL is now registered with ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) for licensing technologies such as Sulphur Recovery Units and Gas Sweetening Units.
Outlook
With a record-breaking year in its stride, EIL is poised for sustained growth across both domestic and international markets. Its diversification into green energy, deeper engagement in global mega-projects, and continued investment in innovation and collaboration point toward a future where EIL not only leads but shapes the engineering and infrastructure narrative of India and beyond.
