The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has commenced interviews to select seven new Executive Directors for public sector banks. From a pool of 87 shortlisted candidates, including senior general managers, the selection process spans four days—beginning July 29 and concluding August 3—with a brief pause midweek. Each vacancy has attracted over a dozen contenders. The vacancies arose due to promotions, term completions, and notably, the demotion of Pankaj Dwivedi by the Centre over vigilance clearance issues. Final FSIB recommendations will be forwarded to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet for approval. Appointments are expected across five major banks.
