The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Gaurav Dayal, IAS (UP: 2004), as Chairperson of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), Navi Mumbai, under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. The appointment, at the Joint Secretary level, will be for a tenure of five years, reflecting the government’s focus on strengthening leadership at key strategic ports.

Gaurav Dayal brings over two decades of administrative experience, having served in multiple capacities across the state and central government. His tenure at JNPA is expected to focus on modernizing port infrastructure, enhancing operational efficiency, and promoting sustainable growth in line with India’s vision for maritime trade. The authority, being one of the largest container ports in the country, plays a crucial role in supporting India’s logistics, trade competitiveness, and connectivity to global markets.
