In a bid to ensure swift and factual responses against misinformation, the Government of India has initiated an extensive sensitisation drive for senior bureaucrats. The exercise aims to equip secretaries, joint secretaries, additional secretaries, and directors with the skills to effectively use emerging digital tools such as social media platforms, podcasts, and new-age communication channels.
According to sources, a day-long conference was organised last week for secretary-level officers, focusing on strengthening the government’s proactive communication strategy. The session featured detailed presentations from top officials, including Principal Secretaries to the Prime Minister, P K Mishra and Shaktikanta Das, along with Cabinet Secretary T V Somnathan.
The move reflects the government’s growing emphasis on transparency and timely information dissemination to counter false narratives and strengthen public trust in official communication.
