Kailash Makwana, a senior IPS officer from the 1988 batch, assumed office as the Director General of Police (DGP) of Madhya Pradesh on December 2, 2024. He was given a guard of honor at the Police Headquarters. Before this role, he served as the Chairman of the M.P. Police Housing Corporation in Bhopal.
Makwana holds an M.Tech degree and has been recognized for his distinguished service, receiving the President’s Commendable Service Medal in 2005 and the Vishisht Seva Medal in 2014. His career includes key roles as the Superintendent of Police in multiple districts, and positions as Additional Director General of Police for various divisions, including CID, Intelligence, and Narcotics, as well as Special DG CID and DG of the Special Police Establishment Lokayukta.
In a media interaction after assuming office, Makwana expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for the trust placed in him and vowed to serve with honesty and dedication.
