Gujarat Strengthens Semiconductor Vision as CM Patel Meets Sumitomo Chemical Leadership

By THE NEWSMAN OF INDIA.COM|Gujarat took another significant step towards strengthening its position as India’s emerging semiconductor and advanced manufacturing hub as Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel held a high-level meeting with Kunal Mittal, Executive Vice President of Sumitomo Chemical (India) Ltd., under the VGRC Central Gujarat initiative.

The discussions focused on expanding collaboration in the semiconductor manufacturing sector, one of the key pillars of Gujarat’s industrial growth strategy. During the meeting, Kunal Mittal expressed Sumitomo Chemical’s strong interest in contributing to the rapid development of Gujarat’s semiconductor ecosystem. He conveyed the company’s intent to participate in the state’s growing high-technology manufacturing landscape and support its vision of becoming a global destination for semiconductor and electronics production.

Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel reaffirmed the Gujarat Government’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment and assured the company of full administrative support and all possible assistance for its proposed investments and projects in the state. He emphasized that Gujarat’s progressive policies, robust infrastructure, and proactive governance continue to attract leading global companies in emerging technology sectors.

The meeting highlighted the state’s sustained efforts to attract world-class investors and build a resilient semiconductor value chain that aligns with India’s technological and manufacturing ambitions.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Das, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) Mamta Verma, and Additional Chief Secretary, Home & Chief Minister’s Office, Sanjeev Kumar, reflecting the Gujarat Government’s coordinated approach towards facilitating strategic investments and accelerating industrial development.

The interaction further reinforced Gujarat’s growing appeal as a preferred investment destination for global technology leaders and underscored the state’s resolve to play a pivotal role in India’s semiconductor revolution.
