Bengaluru, April 11, 2025 — Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has issued a formal statement addressing the spread of speculative and misleading narratives across various media platforms following the January crash of an Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) operated by the Indian Coast Guard.

The state-run aerospace and defense company expressed concern over the proliferation of content authored by individuals identified as defense analysts, former military personnel, and critics. HAL emphasized that these narratives often lack the organization’s perspective, present outdated issues as current, and contain inaccuracies.

“These stories are written without offering HAL’s perspective, and arguments are one-sided and biased,” the statement read. The company highlighted that certain issues referenced in these narratives have been previously resolved in consultation with their customers.

Due to the sensitive nature of defense-related matters, HAL stated that it cannot respond to each report individually. However, it reassured stakeholders of its ongoing collaboration with clients, including the Indian Air Force, to address critical issues inherent to defense aeronautics and complex flying platforms.

HAL cautioned that the dissemination of such speculative stories could adversely affect its stakeholders and emphasized the importance of relying on accurate information.

This clarification comes amid heightened scrutiny of HAL’s aircraft safety protocols following the ALH crash earlier this year. The company reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and its dedication to maintaining the trust of its stakeholders.
