Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has issued an official clarification in response to misleading posts circulating on social media platform X, which claim that the company has finalized the selection of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as a consultancy firm for benchmarking its R&D activities.

HAL has categorically denied these claims, stating that no consultancy firm has been finalized yet for the proposed benchmarking of its Research & Development processes. The company had merely issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ) to engage a suitable consultancy firm to carry out a benchmarking study of its R&D framework vis-à-vis leading global Aerospace and Defence companies.

The decision to undertake this benchmarking exercise stems from recommendations made by a high-powered committee on Public Undertakings, aimed at furthering HAL’s ongoing modernization and continuous improvement efforts.

HAL emphasized that the selection process is still underway and is being conducted in a transparent and competitive manner via the Government of India’s GEM Portal, in full compliance with applicable procurement policies and procedures.

Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, HAL clarified that no contract has been awarded as of now, and any reports or suggestions indicating otherwise are factually incorrect and misleading.
